About the Comedy / Bar:
Comedy / Bar is a unique stand-up comedy venue located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. We provide a platform for local comedians to showcase their talent and entertain audiences six nights a week. Our offerings include open mics, trivia, bingo, spelling bees, and local stand-up comedy shows, providing a diverse range of entertainment options for our guests. Our cozy and intimate setting provides the perfect backdrop for a night of live comedy and great drinks.
About the Role:
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Barback to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the bartenders and ensuring that the bar is stocked with all necessary supplies and equipment. You will work closely with the bartenders and management team to maintain a clean and organized bar area and provide excellent customer service to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the bartenders in preparing and serving drinks to customers
- Ensure that the bar is stocked with all necessary supplies and equipment, including glassware, garnishes, and mixers
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including proper storage of supplies and cleaning of equipment and tools
- Handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and following proper cash handling procedures
- Collaborate with other staff members and the management team to ensure that the bar is operating efficiently and profitably
- Adhere to all local liquor laws and regulations, ensuring that the bar is in compliance at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience as a barback or similar role in a high-volume bar or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of bar operations and procedures, including proper glassware, garnishes, and mixers
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and anticipate their needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and the management team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to work nights and weekends
